BYPRODUCT 37 – THE SLASH – A FRIENDSHIP KNIFE BY M/M (PARIS)
Created in collaboration with design studio M/M (Paris), this limited-edition folding blade is inspired by the tradition of the “friendship knife” – where, as a symbol of their bond, two friends would each gift each other a knife in exchange for a coin.
Hand-crafted from mahogany, plexiglass, and stainless steel, the knife has a liner lock system, which allows for the blade to be locked open.
The second knife created with the Byredo design studio – following one released in 2018 – comes luxuriously presented in a beechwood box, complete with a stamped leather sleeve.

As this product is handmade, we recommend washing it by hand with dish soap, without totally submerging it. Brass oxidizes in air and forms a patina. It can be brightened up by using a cleaning detergent designed for metal (e.g.“Mirror”).
The high-quality of the stainless steel used in the production of the blade doesn’t require regular sharpening. An annual maintenance is enough.
